Where is the training held?

Our South-central training center is located in Richardson TX in the heart of telecoms country. Classes are held at the Doubletree Hotel – Richardson, approximately 35 miles from DFW airport.

Can you recommend hotels near to the Training center?

Metaswitch recommends the Doubletree Hotel as your first choice for lodging. Please be sure to ask for the Metaswitch rate if you choose to stay at the Doubletree Hotel. If your preference is to stay elsewhere, there are several other hotels in the surrounding area. We have listed a few below.

Will I need a rental car?

Shuttles are available from the airport to the hotels. However, due to the spread out nature of the Dallas/Fort Worth area, it would be best to rent a car during your stay.

How do I get to the Training Center from Dallas Fort Worth Airport?

Take the North airport exit to 635 East. Follow 635 East to 75 north. Take the Campbell road exit (26) and the Doubletree will be on the West side of the road. Turn left on Campbell road and then left on the South service road.

How do I get to the Training Center from Dallas Love Field Airport?

Take Mockingbird lane east to North Dallas Toll way. Go North on the toll way to 635 East. Follow 635 East to 75 North. Take the Campbell road exit (26) and the Double tree will be on the West side of the road. Turn left on Campbell road and then left on the South service road.

Parking at the Training facility:

The hotel provides ample free parking on its property.

What do I need to bring?

You will need to bring your laptop PC and have access rights to install software. Hot drinks, sodas and light snacks will be provided during the training. You are free to make your own arrangements for lunch and dinner.

Can I get a connection to the internet from the training center?

There is internet access in the classroom and it is available for your use. Note that our training network may not accommodate your requirements to VPN into your corporate network. If you need internet access to your corporate network, you should ensure that your hotel has a suitable internet connection.

What is the weather like?

Weather in Dallas is relatively mild. Winter gets cool (50's) and summers get hot (100's). Thunderstorms are common in the spring and the fall but most of these are short in duration. You can check the current Dallas area forecast at: wunderground.com.

Other Area Attractions:

  • Dining

    Dallas is famous for its restaurants. Every possible culture is represented in Dallas. The DART rail runs downtown and for $2.00 a day you can ride roundtrip to downtown in about 30 minutes. The biggest issue for eating in Dallas is where to try on any given night.

  • Shopping

    Dallas is also famous for its shopping. With malls everywhere you look, you can find virtually anything.

  • Theater and the Arts

    Dallas has a very active and well known Symphony orchestra. The arts district downtown also has a state of the art performance hall for theatre. There are also ballet performances throughout the year.
    The Richardson area is also active in the performing arts and the Eiseman Center is close by the hotel.

  • Rodeo

    Ft. Worth and Mesquite both offer a great rodeo experience. The Mesquite Rodeo is on the PBR tour and routinely has full blown rodeos.

  • Fort Worth Area

    An easy commute over to Ft. Worth and you are in the heart of Cow-town. With the stockyards as a backdrop, you can relive those wild cowboy days of old. Fort Worth also has a world class zoo, Sundance Square, and the world renowned Bass Performance Hall.

  • Nightlife

    Whether you are a line dancer or a hip-hop lover, Dallas will have a club for you. Some clubs are accessible via the DART rail and most hotels provide shuttles as an alternative.
